In Conversation with Joe Foster, founder of Reebok

Joe Foster

Our goal with Zvelle In Conversation is to bring you stories that pique your curiosity, make you think, spark conversations and lift your spirits.

I recently had the immense pleasure to talk to Joe Foster, founder of Reebok about his journey and his upcoming book Shoemaker. At 85, Joe is still passionate about Reebok and telling his story.

We will be giving out three signed copies of Joe’s book Shoemaker. Stay tuned! - Elle

Elle: I love that your twitter profile says "Retired Founder of the best shoe company ever, Reebok". It's how I feel about my company except I am a long way from building what you have. I love this belief that you have and I understand it. I want to know if you've always had this kind of belief or confidence or if it was something you developed along the way building Reebok.

Joe:

Elle: You were responsible for sales, marketing and brand. Did you feel any pressure?

Joe:

Elle: Some of the most challenging times for me in our short history have been related to our factory partners and things that have gone wrong. Did you have challenges with your factories once you expanded internationally. Can you share any stories?

Joe:

Elle: What was your mental state? So much was happening and how did you get yourself through it?

Joe:

Elle: Reebok will always be your baby. How do you feel now looking at the company you founded?

Joe:

Elle: How would you describe yourself as a founder?

Joe:

Elle: What does Walk How You Want mean to you?

Joe:

Elle: I'm so inspired by the global company you built, how you started and that at the age of 85 you are launching your book about it all. What advice would you give me?

Joe:
